Rollercoaster

It’s been quite the emotional and physical rollercoaster for me both at the ministry and at home lately. The sad thing is I have found myself listening to the wrong voices so many times. I keep hearing one way or another “ You won’t get it right” And I can trace that message back to my childhood. How many of you, like me, find yourself focusing on the negative comments from others or maybe the negative self talk you find yourself repeating? Perhaps you grew up being criticized for things you tried so hard to correct. Or maybe you have heard that you will never amount to anything from a person who supposedly loves and cares for you. And, if you are like me, you work hard to get past the lies and maybe do know and accept the truth most of the time. What is that truth? God loves you. You are accepted and approved of by Him. Then why do we not feel that way sometimes? Because feelings are fickle and often the voices of the world are louder than God’s gentle whisper of love unless we stop and take the time to really hear. So find a place where you can be one with God and take the time to really hear and feel His message of love for you. If you are seeking Him and doing your best to trust and obey then you are doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing. We can never please everyone and there will always be someone who points out what you are doing wrong. But remember the words of a kid’s song which I was honored to hear sung by a sweet little voice just yesterday “ My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do..for you”
